Butterfly Sun Catcher Window Art

Butterfly Sun Catcher Window Art

Just because an item comes in a kit, doesn’t mean you can’t add other items to it! We had some fun with the Butterfly Sun Catcher Kit, adding extra embellishments to create a whimsical effect! Add beads, dashed lines for movement, and make these springtime Butterfly Sun Catchers extra special for your window!

Instructions
Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.

Lay your Sun Catcher on a flat surface with the side with the raised black lines facing up. Apply Sun Catcher paint to the different sections of your Sun Catcher. Tip: the black lines on a Sun Catcher are raised so make sure the paint goes up to the black line. Set Sun Catcher to the side to dry.

Step 3.

Paint additional butterfly Sun Catchers and set aside to dry.

Step 4.

Cut a piece of elastic cord that is included in the kit and create a loop on one end. You will use this loop to hang your completed Sun Catcher project on the Suction Cup.

Step 5.

Thread beads on the elastic cord. The butterfly and heart beads shown here were found in the Alphabet Beads Tub.

Step 6.

Once you have beaded your cord to the desired length, tie the beaded cord onto your Butterfly Sun Catcher.

Step 7.

Take loop created in Step 3 on Suction Cup and hang decorated Butterfly Sun Catcher on your window. Repeat for additional Butterfly Sun Catchers. For some added fun, use a white Glass and Poster Marker to draw small dashed lines in swirling shapes coming from the bottom of the butterflies. This makes it look as though your butterflies are  fluttering all over the place!
