Instructions
Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.
Spread out the Banner Paper roll.

Step 3.
Have children use their fingers, sponge brushes, or even a plastic fork with the Finger Paints to decorate the paper. Encourage them to experiment with the fork or sponge brushes to create different designs and textures on the paper. Don’t be afraid to cover the whole piece of paper and have colors overlap! Set paper aside to dry.

Step 4.
Once dry, you will use this artwork to create a new design. Adults, hold the plastic cup on the Finger Paint artwork. Trace around the cup with a pencil to create a circle shape. Tip: Tracing is a great activity for young children to enhance their hand/eye coordination. Assist your children in tracing the outline of the cup!

Step 5.
You will repeat this step to create 6 total circles on the paper. Have children look for areas that have lots of color and texture. Cut out the circles with scissors. Cutting circles is good practice for preschool age children. Make sure to have children's safety scissors readily available for small hands!

|
Step 6.
Once your circles have been cut out, put them aside and cut a new piece of paper from the roll. This new piece of paper will be the base for your finished collage art.
|
Step 7.
On the new sheet of paper, arrange your circles so that they form a caterpillar. Have some pieces overlap slightly as shown. Glue circles into position.

Step 8.
Have an adult cut a Fuzzy Stick into pieces to use for the legs and face. You can bend the small pieces in half and glue to the body.

Step 9.
Create the caterpillar head by adding Wiggly Eyes and a Fuzzy Stick for the mouth. Also glue Fuzzy Sticks and Glitter Poms for the antennas.

Step 10.
Glue pieces of bent Fuzzy Sticks to the caterpillar as legs.

Step 11.
Have your child paint other accents on their page, such as green grass with the a round foam brush, or a large sun in the sky. After drying, proudly display their Finger Paint Caterpillar Collage on your fridge!
