Homemade Musical Instrument
Make your own musical instrument using recycled household items and jingle bells.
Materials
Acrylic Jewels Peel & Stick Value Pack Assorted Shapes
Paint Brushes 25 Pack Assorted Styles
Fuzzy Sticks 100 Pack White
Jingle Bells 16mm Gold and Silver
Jingle Bells 20mm Gold & Silver
2 Yogurt Cups (rinsed and dried)
Rice, Dried Beans or Lentils
Masking Tape
Scissors
Tissue Paper
Decoupage Glue
Craft Glue
Instructions
Step 1. Gather your supplies.

Step 2.
Pour approximately ¼ cup of rice, dried beans, or lentils into one of the yogurt cups. We used rice, however, you can add whatever you have available, and you can mix together the materials.

Step 3.
Place the other yogurt cup on top and use masking tape to secure the cups together at the seam.

Step 4.
Cut up small pieces of tissue paper. Apply the decoupage glue to the cups and then add the tissue paper to the cup.

Step 5.
Continue to cover the entire shaker with tissue paper. Tip: Overlap pieces to create a unique design. Cover the top of the tissue paper with more decoupage glue. Let dry.

Step 6.
Thread (10) large Jingle Bells onto a Fuzzy Stick.

Step 7.
Wrap the Fuzzy Stick around the shaker cup. Letting it rest a little above the middle. Twist the ends of the Fuzzy Stick together to secure.

Step 8.
Use craft glue under the Fuzzy Stick so that it will stay in place.

Steps 9.
Repeat Steps 6-8 using the smaller Jingle Bells. Finish by adding adhesive jewels to the shaker. Shake back and forth to create a jingling tone!
