How to apply nail polish

How to apply nail polish

Are you one of those women who believe that air vents in cars were put there to dry your nail polish? Have you ever sat in your car, engine running and stomach churning, applying nail polish with shaky hands?

Always apply your nail polish a couple of days beforehand, or whenever you have plenty of time to relax and get it perfect. If you then have to repeat the procedure or touch up any chips, you won’t need more than a couple of minutes. It’s better to leave your nails bare than to apply nail polish scrappily.

Don’t forget - You have to steal the show ;)

Start with a base coat of a transparent colour, this will harden your nails and ensure your nail color lasts longer.

Now start applying your color nail polish, apply it in three strokes, starting with a central downward stroke.

Follow with a stroke on either side.

If the polish smudges, use an ear bud dipped in some nail polish remover and carefully wipe away. Neatly clean out those edges.

Repeat the coat after the first one has partially dried.

Finish with a top coat which acts as a sealer and protector.

Ideally, you should leave your nails to dry for about half an hour. Use a hairdryer if you would like to speed up the process.
