How to Create Romantic Curls

How to Create Romantic Curls

Are you bored with combing your long limp tresses every day? Whether it is a date or a meeting at office, a change in your looks will make you feel special and attractive. So why don’t you try getting the soft romantic curls to boost your confidence? Curling the hair takes no time! It is an easy process and can be achieved within a few minutes. Let us show you how to create romantic curls at home.

Dry and Untangle – Begin by completely drying your hair after washing. Even a small amount of water in hair may damage it after the use of a curler. You can use hair mousse before drying; this will help the curls to remain in place longer. After your hair is dry, use your fingers to gently remove the tangles.

Choose the Right Curler – Beauty experts say that flat irons are better suited to creating the romantic curly look. But curling irons are easier to use! So when you use a curling iron remember to purchase one with a big barrel (11/2”). This is because of the fact that romantic curls should be loose and feminine, a look that can be created only with the help of large barreled irons.

Make the Iron Curler Ready – When hair is dry and untangled, prepare the iron curler by setting it at the correct temperature. Use low temperature if you have thin hair. For those with coarse hair, the curler must be heated at high temperatures.

Use Hair Protection – Hair protectant sprays like protein sprays are available at general stores. Spray these, evenly distributing through your tresses, to prevent damage caused by excess heat in curlers.

Divide the Hair into Sections – It is suggested that hair must be divided in three sections before curling. The first section is from ear to ear; the second from temple to temple and the last at the top of the head.

Start Curling – Take strands of hair from each section and wrap it around the iron to curl. If you want curls only at the end of your hair, wrap the hair strands horizontally around the curler, else wrap them vertically. Remember to finish curling one section of hair and then proceed to another section.

Set the Curls – Once the hair has been curled, set it in place by using a hair spray. Do not spray too much; else the curls will just freeze up. Remember that you want your curls to bounce when you are walking!

Do Not Use a Comb or Brush – Avoid the use of a comb or hair brush after you have curled and set your hair. You may not be leaving home immediately after styling and may have to retouch immediately before an event, but make sure not to use a comb to do this. Tousle the ends of curled hair with your fingers and only pick through the curls gently with your fingers to keep them in place. You can also flip the head and shake it few times to give a casual appearance to the curls.
